Privacy Policy

Last updated September 27, 2026

Boardio is a free project-board app that runs entirely in your web browser. This page explains what data it uses and where that data goes. The short version: your boards stay in your own Google Drive, and Boardio has no server of its own.

What Boardio accesses

When you sign in with Google, Boardio asks for:

Where your data is stored

Boardio has no database or server. Your board data is never sent to Boardio or to its developer.

Sharing

When you share a board, Boardio uses Google Drive's normal sharing to give the people you choose access to that board file. You can remove their access at any time from Boardio's share window or from Google Drive.

AI features

Boardio's AI assistant runs on your own computer, inside your browser, using WebLLM. The model is downloaded once from a public content-delivery network and stored in your browser. Your prompts and board content are processed on your device and are not sent to any AI service.

Third-party services

Boardio loads a few things from other services to work:

These services may receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, when your browser downloads from them.

Google API data

Boardio's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Boardio uses Google data only to provide its board features to you. It doesn't sell your data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to anyone else.

Removing your data

Children

Boardio is a general-purpose productivity tool. If you use it with a school Google account, your school's own policies also apply.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
